Your gut microbiome can be damaged by various factors, such as stress levels, antibiotics and other medications, diet choices and more. Luckily, there are a few ways to improve your gut health naturally.

How can I improve my gut health naturally?

Whilst many factors impact your gut health, there are simple changes that can be easily implemented to get your gut health back on track. Firstly, lower your stress levels. Stress has a significant impact on your gut health, so try lowering these levels with meditation, exercise reducing your caffeine intake, spending time with loved ones or even just laughing! Make sure you get enough sleep: Aim for an uninterrupted 7-8 hours per night, if you can. Eat your meals slowly to aid in digestion and absorption of nutrients, and finally, stay hydrated to balance your gut bacteria. Try to identify your food intolerances: cramping, nausea, or rashes may indicate an intolerance. Begin to eliminate trigger foods you have identified and see how your gut changes. From here, a diet shift may be required, reducing foods that you found impact your stomach (this may be anything from processed, high-sugar foods to high-fat or oily foods). Eating plant-based foods and lean protein may positively impact your gut, so give them a go.
